More Than Services. A Path Forward.
Heroes (Re)Made is built around the understanding that transition is about more than resources — it is about rebuilding the foundations that hold a life together: identity, purpose, and community

FOUNDER
Dr. Micah “Derrick” Love-Jones
Heroes (Re)Made was built on a simple belief: no one is finished.
Founded by Dr. “Micah” Derrick Love-Jones, a service-disabled veteran, the organization began in 2019 as Heroes Hangout—a room next to the VA clinic in Taos, New Mexico. It was a place to sit down, be known, and not have to explain yourself.
What started as a room has grown into a mission helping veterans, first responders, and people in recovery rebuild the foundations that can be lost through transition: identity, purpose, and community.
The organization is guided by leadership, board members, and advisors committed to sustainability, earned income, and community-driven outcomes.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Heal. Serve. Build. Multiply.
Heal what was broken. Serve the person in front of you. Build something that lasts. Multiply it by handing it to the next person.
How We Work
MEET PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE
We meet people where they are, not where we think they should be.
BUILD INDEPENDENCE
We build skills and work history, not dependence.
CONNECT THE PATHWAYS
We treat art, work, and housing as connected, because a person needs all three.
KEEP THE DOOR OPEN
We keep the door open. Progress is not always a straight line and we do not treat it as one.
We do not sort people at the door.
THE GOOD LIFE
Live the Good Life.
Heroes (Re)Made exists to help people build a meaningful life beyond service, transition, and recovery. We believe the good life is built on five foundations.
HEALTH
WEALTH
LOVE
HAPPINESS
HIGHER PURPOSE
